Jeanerica Opens a Second Stockholm Store on Södermalm

The acclaimed Swedish denim label Jeanerica is expanding, opening a second store in the capital. Founded in 2018 by Lena Patriksson Keller and Jonas Clason, the brand opened its first shop two years ago on Nybrogatan in Stockholm; the new location sits across town on Södermalm, at Nytorgsgatan 36A, and opened on August 20, 2026.

What makes the expansion notable is how the brand approaches its spaces. Rather than rolling out a single fixed concept from store to store, Jeanerica designs each shop around its specific setting, the neighbourhood, the street and the building it occupies. The new Södermalm store, like the nearly two-year-old flagship, was shaped by its location rather than dropped in as a template.

For the project, the founders worked with the architect Daniel Östman and drew on Swedish modernism. They took particular inspiration from the designer Margaretha Köhler, whose interior firm Futurum made her one of the leading female designers of her era in the 1930s. The result is a store meant to feel rooted in its place and in a distinctly Swedish design lineage.

That location-specific philosophy is a deliberate counterpoint to the way many brands scale. Identikit stores are efficient, but they can feel generic; designing each one to its surroundings is slower and more considered, and it signals a brand that treats retail as part of its creative identity rather than just a sales channel.

For a denim label built on a clean, well-made product, extending that care to the spaces where the clothes are sold is a coherent move. As Jeanerica grows its footprint in Stockholm, the Södermalm opening suggests it intends to expand on its own terms, one thoughtfully designed store at a time.
