Move Over, Skin Scents — Milky Perfumes Are the Fragrance of the Summer

For the past few years, musky “skin scents” have ruled fragrance, powered by crowd-pleasers like Glossier You and Phlur’s Missing Person. This summer, a new mood is taking over: the milky perfume.

The appetite is measurable. According to booking platform Fresha, searches for “milk perfume” jumped 128 percent in the past year. It’s a natural next step from skin scents — the same comforting, cocooning feel, but with more intensity and sensuality, and better longevity in the heat, when fragrance tends to fade fast.

Where last year leaned on coconut and almond milk for a sweet, warm edge, 2026 is pushing the idea further, with perfumers reaching for more expressive, unexpected milky accords.

The result is a scent family that feels intimate without disappearing — cosy, creamy, and quietly sensual, and ideally suited to summer skin.
