2026 has been a busy year for celebrity nurseries, and with the new arrivals has come the usual crop of distinctive names. As roundups of the year’s babies go, this one leans hard into the current taste for names that are pretty, slightly old-fashioned or just a little unexpected.
The international contingent set the tone early. Sofia Richie and Elliot Grainge welcomed Henry Cecil Grainge in March, model Elsa Hosk and Tom Daly named their July baby Flora Blue Daly, and Hailee Steinfeld and the NFL’s Josh Allen went with Harper Haize Allen in April. It is a mix of the classic and the invented that sums up where celebrity naming sits right now.
Sweden is well represented too. Singer Eric Saade and Hanna Schönberg named their summer arrival Zayn Levant Saade, influencer Kenza Zouiten Subosic and Aleks Subosic welcomed a daughter, Maia, in May, and there were new babies for Flora Wiström and comedian Johanna Nordström as well. Taken together, the class of 2026 is a neat snapshot of how far celebrity baby names have drifted from the ordinary.
